Pissedness

Is there anything finer than having a few drinks with friends? I think not!

(Also, being able to type when said drinks are over would be nice, too...)

Tranny, Tranny, Tranny, ye are a sexy bitch. (Yes, I am going to put that all over teh internet.)

Listy Goodness

I'd forgotten how good it is to sit down and write a big to-do list when you're stressed out. I suppose it makes you feel that you have control over that little thing, at least, even if there are a million things that you have to do.

I've been really slack about a few things lately, and that's gotten me into trouble, least of all the fact that horrible Centrelink cut me off because I hadn't taken in my lease for the fourth time.

Honestly, they expect me to play by their rules (which I do) and jump when they say jump, and yet they'll harrass me for something that they've seen on a number of occasions AND have photocopies of! Their reason was 'We need to know if your circumstances have changed, if someone has moved in, or if you've been staying somewhere else.' OK, fine, but how is my lease going to show that? Pfft, they're freaking annoying.

Anyway, all honours to the list. May it structure for ever more...

Wedding

It all went pretty damn well, actually.

I arrived on Friday night and was promptly fed, and then fed again. Mmmm, pizza. For some reason, we all then (and by 'all', I mean Mum, Rick, Grandma, Dale and I) watched The Mask of Zorro. What? There was nothing else on, and I wanted to perve on Catherine Zeta Jones. Then it was pretty much bed, and up early the next day.

I was woken up by the radio at about 6.30am (a common occurance when staying in Castlemaine. Cursed morning people! One day our kind will rule the world! Mwahahaha!) I sat around drinking tea and then took the dogs for a walk until it was time to pick Ash up from the station. She'd stayed in Melbourne to go and see Paul Stanley (which was awesome, she says.) Then, Grandma and Mum and Ash and I went and had coffee (tea) and cake at one of the cool local cafes. We did some shopping, then headed home to start getting ready. It was raining quite heavily at this point.

We sat around, eating and drinking and getting ready for a while. One of Mum's friends came over to do her hair and makeup and everything, and actually braided my hair really nicely. Yay for good friends. Eventually, we were all in our glad-rags and ready to go. A few of us went to the gardens to wait for Mum, and set up the little table and got out some drinks. Ash and I went to take a photo of Mum's arrival, and saw a car almost smash into theirs. Idiots. Everyone was OK, though. (Note: Just as we arrived, there was a minor car crash on that corner. Those people were fine, but it was a bit scary...)

Everyone got to the gardens, there were a hundred photos taken (I'll upload some when Ash has her camera here) and Mum and Rick got married. It was a simple little ceremony, but it was lovely. I basically just stood there holding flowers trying not to cry. I think Ash cried. Aw. After it was all over, there were more photos, and then we retired to the reception to eat, drink and be merry.

The food was spectacular, and the alcohol was plentiful. As I mentioned on the board, Ash and I accidently drank a $50 bottle of wine... We didn't know at the time! Argh! (But it was very good. Mmm, wine.)

Sunday, we didn't do much but eat. I love going home. Photos are forthcoming!

Drunkness

Massive drunken afternoon yesterday. It was Helen J's birthday/housewarming/fun party of all kinds. *grin* Cherry decided to appropriate 10 bottles of wine from work, and there was slabs and slabs of beer... No wonder I got completely shitfaced and ate my bodyweight in BBQ delights.

I had a brilliant time (apart from one minor glitch in which emotion whacked me over the head and made me closet myself away for a bit of a teary. Was rescued and looked after and everything was fine in the end.)

There was a piano, and me and a few others trying valiantly to sing Seasons of Love as it should be sung (Mama by far outstripped us all, congratulations...) and improvised mojitos (I love having a bar manager as a close personal friend) and excellent conversation and Rock and Roll dancing and pissed phone calls...

It was totally worth me waking up half-dead, missing my train and having to catch a cab to work...

Just for Now

I totally had a magnificent post organised with fun iTunes games and everything, and then the computer sneezed and I lost the damn thing. Grumpy about that.

Anyway, writing has been good to me the last couple of days. I managed to pull a short story out of the air and actually get about 2000 words of it out last night. It felt so good to type away and just know exactly what I was going to write next. I love that feeling. I'll clean it up a bit and see what happens with that.

Also? I've been writing smutty drabbles on the train in the morning. Blame Telanu and her Devil Wears Prada goodness.

More Little Emma

The Girl in the Blue Dress. And I have plenty of me in pink. Never seeing the light of Blogger. Ever. *grin*

And then, me in a tent. I actually hated that tent as I grew older. There were always nasty spiders lurking within. Eugh.

Little Emma

Finally getting around to scanning the photos that Mum gave me for my 21st...

John Butler, Easter, Silverchair

John Butler at Fed Square was so good!

I ended up meeting Mum at Flinders St after running away from a Uni drinking session (shame on me). The place was packed. Who would have thought there were so many fans? Or maybe everyone was just there because it was free? Mum and I wormed our way into a spot where we could at least see the big screen, as there was no chance of seeing the man himself. It wasn't long before John Butler was on stage playing such wonderful music...

He started off with Zebra. Good move, as everyone sort of danced and sang along. I tried to ring Jes, but she must have still been at work. A little later in I called and stood there holding my phone up like an idiot. *grin* The music was fantastic! Vika and Linda Bull were there, and they sang beautifully. The busking song he played on his guitar had everyone clapping and cheering and dancing... There was such a good energy.

Wonderful stuff! I mentioned on the board that it was nothing like seeing him at the Big Day Out. I was all hot and tired and sweaty and dying to see Muse, and being squished and scorched and couldn't see the stage much anyway at the BDO, so no wonder I was impatient through his set. The other night was brilliant, though. He had an excellent rapport with the audience, and he played very, very well.

And then we went out drinking. Pity we had to catch a tram at 11 and therefore missed James. Very annoyed with myself for having to go.

We cleaned out aaaall of the crap (and actual stuff I wanted) that was in the spare room today, which wsas good. Everything is lovely and tidy, and I have new Silverchair to listen to.

The verdict? Not sure yet. Diorama is one of my favourite albums of all time, so it's taking a little while to get used to. I love Straight Lines, so I'm sure it'll grow on me. I do like it, I just don't adore it the way I adore Diorama. It'll get there.

Submissions

So here's the deal.

Being busy as made me realise that I still have a tiny amount of time left over for writing. Whilst I am very happy about that discovery, it's also meaning that I want to get my work out there, and I'd really like a second opinion on a certain piece I'm thinking of sending out.

It's the android one, for those of you who have read it. I've let it have a bit of a rest for a while, so I'll look over it and maybe give it a final edit before I send it around, but I'd like some people who haven't read it before, if possible...

If you're interested, drop me an email or hit my comments box, and I'll mail it over. (Possible chocolate will be forthcoming if you live close enough for me to shout you Max Brenner. Otherwise you'll just have my endless appreciation...)

Remember, I heart you...

That's Actually Scary

Yeah, put this on the board, but I thought it deserved posting here too.

I heart Starbuck. And this? Well... See for yourself.

Happy 302 to me!

Yeah, totally missed the boat on my 300th post, so this can be a mini-celebration instead. Urm, there won't be any singing or dancing, I'm afraid... I don't know, maybe I could juggle?

Anyway, anyway. Back to the point. I've been far too busy and important to blog lately (no, that's not true, I'm not important at all) but things have been pretty unexciting. I was going to blog about seeing a Midsummer Night's Dream the other night, because it was really, really good, but I somehow forgot and never caught up. Sorry about that.

At least I can tell you about last night. Swatch launched a new watch (Global Thinking) which was apparently launched simultaneously over five continents, and our little Collins Street store got to be part of the fun. It basically meant that our poor store manager was running around crazy for a few days, and that a whole bunch of people rocked up to be presented with raffle tickets (watches and club memberships) and a whole lot of food and drink. Which I (and one other person) was in charge of. Best job of the night, I say, for we got to drink beer (imported from Amsterdam, no less) and sneakily munch on some chips and sushi inbetween getting people tipsy. Much fun. There was even a whole lot of cute little cupcakes with red icing and little white crosses on them. Aww. I took home a hell-load, as we had heeeaps left over.

I think the guy in charge is going to take us out to dinner or something soon. Hurrah for Swatch, I say!

And now that all of my major assignments are done for now, I should actually have time to blog. Hurrah. *grin* And happy 302th to me.
